A higher social floor is now a better economic model. No fucks given if it's better for society.
AI and Robotics quietly inverted the equation
It used to be a better model to keep most of society poor so they'd work for less and you can make stuff cheaper. That worked exceptionally well in America. Economically sound, morally dubious.
Now we need the exact opposite: a population locked in a cycle of poverty cannot suddenly pivot to an innovation economy when labour is automated. A population with access to training or existing education can pivot.
America is slowly being crippled by this principle.
Australia is perfectly poised to seize the opportunity and can't see the fucking wood for the trees.
I see the wood and I want you to as well. What kind of country do we want to build for our kids?
A new fair go is about raising the social floor so that we can raise the ceiling. This is only becoming feasible because of AI and Robotics; however, the reason it is feasible is the same reason it is necessary.
Here's how you build the floor for yourself and others right now.
The government won't save you. I'm almost certain the education department couldn't spell AI, and if they could they'd think it had something to do with livestock.
I'm not waiting, and neither should you.
This is how, together, we build the floor: by ensuring that all of us in our generation make, use, own, teach and distribute AI.
These are the only categories of job that will increase in demand and frequency and not be outpaced by supply. Everything else will experience real wage stagnation.
You must do one or more of the following, and help your mates do the same. Even if you are in a service job for now: many people displaced from automated jobs will start competing with you for your job, and they will work for a lot less than you. Trust me.
“My mission is to help Gen Z make, use, own, teach and distribute AI and Robotics so that they have even a chance at owning a home.”
